Merry Christmas!

Wonderful Wreaths

We will be open starting Saturday Nov 19th at 9A

We have completed construction on our new sales building in planning for the long term sucess of Winterfarm.  This has been two years of planning and design.  The wreath room (on the left side of the building) will allow more wreaths and roping to be displayed out of the weather and within easy view for our customers.  Our North Pole train display is completely new and enlarged with more features to enjoy.  The front porch will allow everyone to stay out of the weather and enjoy the view. The old sales building was moved down next to the bailer pavilion and will house the caddy supplies and extra storage.

*The Cocoa Stop will be open as normal and the picnic tables will be available again this year.

The bonfire will be going all day (weather permitting) for everyone to enjoy while having, s'mores, hot chocolate, hot dogs or our famous cup cakes.

Our trees are looking great and we have several new fields open.  This year we have Fraser Fir, Douglas Fir, Concolor Fir and Blue Spruce.  We are looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Winterfarm is a Choose-and-Cut Christmas Tree farm located near Jarrettsville, Maryland.  Our farm consists of over 54 acres of gently rolling topography along St. Clair Bridge Road, and has been owned by family for over 120 years. We are part of the Harford County Agricultural Land Preservation Program.

Proprietor Gary Thomas was born the same year his father, Jim Thomas, began growing Christmas trees to sell on Goat Road near Aberdeen. As Gary’s father gained evergreen farming knowledge and honed his craft, Gary’s uncle Lee Thomas, also growing Christmas trees in Aberdeen, nurtured in his nephew a love of growing all things. After a lifetime of learning from both, Gary is considered among peers to be an authority on growing Christmas trees. He specializes in Fraser fir, Winterfarm’s largest crop.

Our farm has won numerous awards for Fraser Firs during the twenty-plus years since the variety was added as a crop. In 2018 we won first prize at the Maryland State Fair, Harford County Fair and Reserve Grand Champion at the Mason Dixon Fair, all for our Fraser Firs.  In 2018 we won the Grand Champion prize at the Harford County Fair.  We believe we have some of the prettiest Fraser Firs. In 2021 County Living Magazine honored our farm with being listed as one of the 32 Best Christmas Tree Farms in America.

Gary is the past president of the Maryland Christmas Tree Association and past president of the Pennsylvania Christmas Tree Growers Association, where he has remained a board member since 2011.
